Authored by Wondwossen Belete, this Working Paper examines the main factors affecting the process of learning and innovation in informal-sector micro and small enterprises (MSEs) in Ethiopia. It makes use of the handloom- weaving and leather footwear sectors in Addis Ababa as lenses through which to explore the patterns of innovation in MSEs, and to identify factors that influence collaboration and the spread of knowledge among the enterprises.
