This 2010 edited volume, Access to Knowledge in Africa: The Role of Copyright, has chapters outlining the African Copyright and Access to Knowledge (ACA2K) network’s research findings on the copyright environments of eight African countries: Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Mozambique, Senegal, South Africa and Uganda. ACA2K, which ran from 2007 to 2011, was Open AIR’s precursor network (see Open AIR origins). This book’s concluding chapter provides comparative analysis across the findings in the eight study countries, and outlines possible best practices that can be adopted by African stakeholders who seek access-friendly copyright environments.
