Zainab Lawal is a PhD candidate in Law at the University of Ottawa, focusing her research on gender equality and Indigenous women’s rights. She holds an LLM from Nottingham Trent University, where she provided pro bono services at the Legal Aid Centre. Zainab is also the founder of The Shield Institute, an advocacy group dedicated to advancing women’s rights in the new era of emerging technologies in healthcare.
