Adel completed his BA with a double major in History (Honors Program) and Integrated Marketing Communications in 2016 from the American University in Cairo. In 2018 he completed his MA in history from Goldsmiths, University of London. While completing his MA, he freelanced with a number of NGOs working on heritage conservation and inclusive education. Before joining Access to Knowledge for Development (A2K4D), he worked in teaching and research. Adel’s current research activities focus on the digital economy, open data for development, and the state of AI in MENA. Adel is a historian of modern Egypt with a focus on the postcolonial cultural economy.
