Khadiga Hassan holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics with Honors from the Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts. Upon graduating, she worked as an International Market Research Assistant at the Massachusetts Export Center located in Boston. She moved back to Cairo and joined Access to Knowledge for Development Center (A2K4D) at the American University in Cairo as a researcher in 2020. Since then, Hassan has been engaging in empirical, bottom-up, policy-oriented research on the different intersections related to technology and inclusive development; digital economy, platform economy, the future of work, and issues of Artificial Inclusion (AI), with a focus gender and opportunities for youth, in the context of Egypt, Africa and the Arab world. She has a keen interest in AI ethics, data and AI governance, regulating innovation, inequalities and social science, new work and social protection, and labor economics.
