Ngonidzaishe Gotora is an early career researcher and Research Assistant at the DSI/NRF SARChI Research Chair in Intellectual Property, Innovation and Development at the University of Cape Town. He is currently pursuing a Master of Laws in Intellectual Property Law at the University of Cape Town where his research examining the patent law in South Africa. He is seeking to answer the question whether patent regime in South Africa infringes the Constitutional right to health with specific focus on affordable medicines.
Ngonidzaishe is an alumnus of the University of Portsmouth and the University of Queensland, Australia. He has also worked as a Data Analyst and a Legal Practitioner.
Ngonidzaishe research interests include leveraging intellectual property rights for development, innovation, health equity and economic success in Africa, as well as data governance and data protection.
