    Anthony Oguguo is a legal scholar and currently a Doctoral Candidate in Health Law and Governance Policy at the University of Ottawa, Canada and a Queen Elizabeth Scholars – Advanced Scholars Fellow with Open AIR.. His research addresses critical global health issues, including health coverage challenges, health inequalities, and global health governance, focusing on Africa. Holding dual Master of Laws (LL.M) degrees in Health Law & Governance Policy from the University of Ottawa and Commercial Law from the University of Lagos, Mr. Oguguo combines legal expertise with a commitment to advancing equitable healthcare. 

    His professional journey includes roles as a Researcher with the Open Air Africa Innovation Research programme and as a Researcher in Professor Adegboyega Ojo’s team at the School of Public Policy and Administration, Carleton University, Canada, concentrating on legal, regulatory, and global governance aspects of Artificial Intelligence. Mr. Oguguo has extensive experience in both private practice and public service, having served on the Governing Council of Nigeria’s National Health Insurance Scheme, where he chaired committees on health policy reform. 

    Through his private practice, Tony Oguguo & Co., Mr. Oguguo has tackled a range of legal issues, particularly in health law, intellectual property, and environmental law. His commitment to health law and governance is further demonstrated by his community service initiatives, which include providing micro-credit support and free medical services for marginalized groups.
