This Open AIR Annual Report sets out the activities and outputs of the network from mid-2024 to mid-2025. During this period, the network continued its Regulation for Innovation Supporting SDGs and Open Opportunities for Globally Inclusive Biomedical Innovation projects, and implemented the Signposting to Future Scenarios initiative. The period under review also saw Open AIR receive funding for two significant new projects: the Canada–Africa Partnership (CAP) on IP for Climate Action and the Catalysing AI’s Potential in Africa through IP Innovation. Both of these initiatives are introduced in this report, and their activities, which are to commence in late 2025 and early 2026, will be among the core foci of the Open AIR Annual Report 2025-26.

In this report, Open AIR’s activities and outputs between mid-2024 and mid-2025 are set out in three categories: rapid-response interventions; field-building studies; and momentum-catalyst events. The report also provides highlights from Open AIR’s work in North Africa; West and Central Africa; East Africa; Southern Africa; and Canada.
