Open AIR Steering Committee member, Tobias Schonwetter, co-authored a chapter on “Africa, the Internet and Human Rights”, in Human Rights, Digital Society and the Law: A Research Companion. This book explores the main fundamental issues and practical dimensions related to the safeguarding of human rights in the internet, which are at the focus of current academic debates. While taking a global perspective, Schonwetter’s chapter is the only one dealing with Africa, bringing a completely different and very much needed perspective to this global debate.
