Katie Degendorfer is studying law at the University of Ottawa. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto where she majored in Political Science. Throughout her undergraduate degree, Katie worked as a research student for Professor Elisabeth King where she assisted in the research and editing of a book focused on education in Rwanda. Katie has worked in clinical research for the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and has travelled to Kenya and Kosovo to do research on education and peacebuilding post-conflict. She was selected as the Student Member of the Victoria College Review Committee and was elected Vice President of the Victoria College Athletics Association. After completing her BA, she worked as an independent contractor for Innovations for Poverty Action and for New York University on a cross-national qualitative study focused on understanding youth aspirations for education and life in Kenya and Pakistan. In 2015, Katie worked for a criminal law firm in downtown Toronto.
