Victoria Schorr is a sub-Saharan Africa specialist with approximately two decades of experience analysing African politics, economics, trade, and business. From 2015 to 2023, Schorr was the Regional Manager of Open AIR’s Canada hub. She now works as the COO of Africa Trade Desk, a consulting firm in both Canada and across Africa. She remains a Fellow of the Open AIR network, cross-affiliated with the Centre for Law, Technology and Society at the University of Ottawa.

Ms. Schorr holds an MSc in African Politics from the School of Oriental and African Studies and a BA in African Studies from McGill University. Her areas of specialisation include African political economy, African business and the private sector, international business and investment, international relations, behavioural economics, and development. She has worked with organisations ranging from grassroots NGOs to the UN, as well as with several Government of Canada departments including Global Affairs Canada. She has several publications, both academic and non-academic, and has presented on African issues at several conferences and events.
